New York - September 3, 2012

Waking up we got ready and headed out to the World Trade Center area. Took a couple of trains to get there, got on the wrong one, but we eventually made it. The new tower is going to be beautiful. They'll be truly lovely when they're done.

The new tower going up.

Stumbled upon Saint Paul's Church while we were walking around. it's a lovely little church with some beautiful memorials inside.

Saint Paul's from the back.

From the front with the new tower going up in the backround.

We didn't buy pre-tickets into the memorial for 9/11 so we hit the gift shop and looked around a bit before heading to Battery Park. Caught our first glimpse of Lady Liberty from there.

A beautiful wall memorial.

Heading back uptown we found Wall Street bull.

Have to love the architecture.

It was SO busy! I had to settle for getting my photo with the ass. XD

Best picture of him I got.

Moving on we went to Wall Street itself.

You're fired!

I was trying to get my photo with the Wall Street sign! Not the no standing one. XD

Heading back up the street we stumbled upon Trinity Church, which was unfortunately under construction.

Gorgeous inside, though.

We kept heading up the island and caught the subway to Astor's Place to meet Brandi's friend Jane. Jane took us to this Spanish/Mexican restaurant called Luca's. The food was awesome! Pulled pork in a plantain and a really good mushroom quesidila. Brandi and I made the mistake of getting margarita's though! Truly awful, all alcohol, no fruit. Went straight to my head!

Next Jane took us to a bubble tea place before heading on to SoHo for shopping. I didn't buy much, just some Victoria Secret. Saw a beautiful purse that I wanted. Marc Jacob, but even 30% off it was too rich for my blood!

Catching the subway back to our hotel we quickly changed and met Mel and Mike down in the lobby. Caught the subway down to Mario Batali's restaurant Babbo. Sitting down we took a good long look at the menu. It was like trying to read Greek! Good thing we had Mike and Mel with us, the professional chefs knew the vocabulary!

We got some amazing melt-in-your-mouth prosciutto then four fresh pastas. Then we had the most amazing duck ever. It was so delicious! Especially the skin! So good!

Finally I had an amazing dessert/pancake/waffle thing with grapes and honey ice cream. I've never had such a delicious meal! I can't recommend it enough.

Everyone looking snazzy.
