Walked to Wall Street to go shopping at TJ Maxx (We are now Maxinistas!). I really hadn't packed for the weather. It was around 25C or higher every day with monster humidity. Got myself a couple nice shirts to wear.
Next we caught the subway to Grande Central Station! It was truly gorgeous. We wandered around and took pictures and had lunch in the downstairs food court.
The mad hatter in his space boots outside of Central Grand.
Outside the station.
Chrysler building. I actually really like this one.
You can never have enough me in my own LJ, right?
Next we walked to the UN building. On the way there we saw a large gathering of Orthodox Jewish people standing in the rain across the street from us. There was a man shouting to them on a megaphone, but we couldn't understand. The freaky thing, however, was the NYC policeman standing kitty corner to them in full riot gear with a monstrous gun. I can only assume he was there to protect them?
Near the UN
The UN building.
Neat sculpture near the UN.
There's no subway stations anywhere near the UN building so we walked back to Grand Central Station to catch the subway to the Rockafeller building.
Proof that I'm not lying?
Radio City Music Hall, photo taken by Brandi because I was too tired. XD
We wanted to see the Rockafeller building and the plaza where they have skating during the winter. During the summer it's actually a restaurant and the whole thing was packed with audio equipment and lights because some sort of NFL event was taking place there the next day.
By this time, however, we were so exhausted we caught the train back to the hotel to soak our feet in the bath tub and had McDonald's for dinner. Watched a Big Bang Theory marathon before going to bed.
